A former U.S. congressional candidate experienced a brutal night on Hustler Casino Live, where a remarkable comeback was wiped out in a single million-dollar hand.
Scott Palmer Fuhrman, who previously ran for Congress as a Democrat in Florida’s 27th Congressional District, made his debut on the popular high-stakes poker livestream under the name Palmer. He joined a stacked $500/$1,000 no-limit hold’em cash game featuring Alan Keating, Nik Airball, Peter Wang, Brandon Steven, and several other well-known high rollers.
For much of the session, Palmer could not seem to find any momentum. He lost several major pots and, around seven hours into the game, was down roughly $578,000. One of the most painful hands came when he moved all-in with top pair against Peter, only to discover that his opponent had the nut straight.
Despite the rough start, Palmer managed to stage a dramatic recovery. Holding K♦K♣, he called Brandon Steven’s $435,000 all-in shove against A♦K♥. The players agreed to run the board twice, and Palmer won both runouts. The double hold immediately changed the tone of his night and brought him much closer to even.
Shortly afterward, he added another significant pot against Alan Keating, winning around $200,000 with two pair against Keating’s middle pair. After being buried for nearly $600,000, Palmer had suddenly fought his way back to almost break-even.
Then came the hand that defined the entire session.
Palmer limped on the button with A♥J♥, and Keating, playing from the straddle, raised with J♣3♦. After a call, the flop came 3♣A♠3♥. It was a dangerous setup: Palmer had top pair, while Keating had flopped trips.
Keating led out for $35,000, and Palmer raised to $115,000. Keating called. The turn brought the 3♠, giving Keating four of a kind while Palmer still held what looked like a very strong hand. Both players checked, and the river came Q♥.
On the river, Keating fired a massive $390,000 bet. Palmer took only a short time before making the call, but the news was devastating: Keating tabled quads and dragged a $1,057,500 pot.
The loss completely erased Palmer’s comeback. Visibly frustrated, he stepped away from the table and vented after the hand, clearly stunned by how quickly the session had turned against him again.
By the end of the broadcast, Palmer finished down $658,500, while Keating ended the night as one of the biggest winners, booking an $818,000 profit.
Fuhrman’s political background added an unusual storyline to the stream. He ran for Congress in 2016 against Republican incumbent Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, losing by nearly 10 percentage points. He later entered the 2018 race for the same district but dropped out in 2017.
What began as a difficult debut briefly looked like it might become a spectacular recovery story. Instead, one cooler against Alan Keating turned Palmer’s night into one of the most dramatic high-stakes losses of the Hustler Casino Live session.
